Executive Coaching White Paper
Immediately download this white paper outlining the good executive coaching practices.

Executive coaching is a process that fosters self-awareness and leads to change which meets both individual and organizational performance needs. Our process links self-awareness with business results to create individual and organizational transformation. Traditional coaching has focused on personal and interpersonal relationships. Executive Development Consulting’s coaching links self-awareness with business results. We help executives identify and overcome obstacles and make personal changes quickly to avoid low performance or failure.

We provide support and development to ensure executives perform at their maximum potential. Our coaches work with both high potential leaders and also individuals who face potential derailment and need remedial support. This is a comprehensive six to twelve month process which includes face-to-face meetings with interim telephone conversations and e-mails, 360 degree feedback, and interviews with key stakeholders. Executives are guided to develop an action based, personal development plan that leverages their strengths while also addressing developmental opportunities, which results in others seeing a positive change in a person’s behavior over a period of several months. Our coaches assist executives to identify practical ways to improve their performance. Ongoing feedback is provided by the coaches through the coaching process.

Some frequent goals of executive coaching include:

  • Achieving a higher level of performance
  • Moving into a new role with increased responsibilities
  • Improving effectiveness with direct reports
  • Improving relationships with key people in an organization
  • Accomplishing a specific project

The steps of executive coaching are:

  • Determine what needs to happen and in what context
  • Establish trust and set expectations
  • Contract for specific results
  • Collect and communicate feedback
  • Develop and execute an action based personal development plan
  • Foster learning about actions
  • Evaluate individual and organizational progress and continue the process
