FEEDBACK AND RESULTS
The two programs and transition coaching have been powerful
tools to support newly appointed leaders get off to a good start and
accelerate their transitions. An outside consulting and research
firm providing evaluation and measurement services to many Fortune
500 organizations, completed a return on investment (ROI) assessment
of these initiatives. The study involved over 125 leaders who attended
the programs or received transition coaching, and the results were
based on surveys and interviews with program participants after
they had the opportunity to spend time in their new leadership
role. During the transition period, leaders consistently applied
several key behaviors emphasized in the programs. Newly appointed
leaders provided specific examples of tangible benefits
to the business which were attributable to the programs including:
- Improved growth rates
- Increased market share gain
- Enhanced customer service levels
- Increased sales
- Increased projects completed
By using program cost and compensation
data, the results enabled the organization to estimate the economic
impact of these initiatives.
Participants estimated that they performed 30-40% better as a direct
result of participating in one or more of the transition services.
It revealed a total ROI of 1400% or a net present value
to J&J
of approximately $88 million. |
